Interview Questions
Page 5
This part of the interview lets you tell the interviewer how you will add to the success of the company, and why you are the best qualified person for the job. Be Honest and give straight forward answers. Do not "make up" information.
Important side note: Keep your answers no longer then 60 seconds.
QUESTIONS:
Below are some questions typically asked at an interview:
- Tell me something about yourself.
- What are your future goals in life?
- What are your weaknesses?
- Give me some background information on your education?
- What personal characteristics do you possess for this job?
- What jobs have you possessed and why did you leave the company?
- If I were to call one of your past employers, what do you think they would say about you?
- How did you hear about this job?
- Why do you want this job?
- How will you add to our work environment?
- What do you know about this company and about the particular job you applied for?
- Why should I hire you?
- Do you have any questions?
Many times the person doing the interview will ask you behavioral questions to see how you react to different situations. All the interviewer is looking for in your answer is a brief description of a specific problem or situation, how you would plan to solve the situation, and what the results might be. Most times you can recognize a behavioral question by the way it is asked. For example: “Give me an example of...,…” or “Think of a situation where...…”
Example behavioral questions:
- Tell me about a time when you had to make a difficult decision. How did you decide on making the decision you did.
- Think of a time when you had to work as part of a team. What was you role on the team and why did you have that role?
Killer Phrases:
Avoid ALL slang terms during the interview. Use professional language When slang words are used, the interviewer gets caught on that word, avoiding anything you say afterwards.
